Hanging Your Papier Mâché Piece Both Ways
The panel arrives with a D-shaped ring hanger fitted to the back, so all you supply is the fixing suited to your wall: a plasterboard anchor, a masonry plug or a simple picture hook in timber. Because the composition reads as abstract, the piece can be hung vertically or horizontally, and the two orientations give noticeably different results. Upright, it lengthens a narrow stretch of wall in a hallway; turned on its side, it settles above a headboard or a long console and pulls the eye across the room instead of up it.
Care is straightforward but specific to the material. Papier mâché is porous, so keep it away from steam and persistent damp and choose a living room, bedroom or landing over a bathroom. Dust with a dry, soft brush rather than a cloth, working with the relief instead of across it, and never use water or spray cleaner. Pair it with natural material decor such as rattan, linen and pale timber; the shared matte surfaces let the raised white forms stay the focal point.
