Discover a Milled Walnut Headboard with Integrated LED Light

The headboard and its two matching bedside tables are finished in walnut veneer worked with horizontal linear milling, a series of fine parallel grooves cut across the face. Milling of this kind does something a flat panel cannot: it breaks raking light into thin bands, so the surface changes character between morning and evening. Running along the top edge is an LED light strip, which washes the wall behind the bed instead of pointing at your eyes. Sized for a 180 x 200 cm mattress, the set arrives as a coordinated group rather than three pieces you have to match yourself.

The 3000K LED is a warm, slightly yellow white, chosen because cooler temperatures read as clinical in a bedroom and suppress the wind-down the room is meant to encourage. It is operated by a remote control, which is included, and powered through a 1.5 m cable that plugs directly into the mains, so no driver box or electrician is required. Practically, that means the lighting layer is decided before you buy a single lamp, and the bed can act as the ambient source in the room once the ceiling light goes off.

Slats, Legs and Soft-Close Drawers

The frame includes its own bed base with 14 birch plywood slats, so no separate base is needed. Birch plywood is used for slats because its cross-laminated layers flex repeatedly without taking a set, and fourteen of them spread load closely enough to support foam and pocket-sprung mattresses alike. The bed stands on 9 solid birch wood legs with a round cross-section and a walnut veneer outer profile, nine rather than four because a frame of this width needs support along its length as well as at the corners.

Each bedside table runs on soft-close drawers with concealed runners, so nothing slams late at night and no hardware interrupts the drawer sides; the only visible metal is a brushed-effect stainless steel handle. A recess at the bottom allows the units to sit flush over a skirting board, which is the small detail that decides whether a bedside table actually meets the wall. The timber throughout carries FSC Mix Credit chain of custody certification under a responsible forest management model.
