Certified Timber and a Simple Routine
The chair is part of the Kave Cares Design programme, which means the timber is FSC certified wood, sourced from sustainable forests with controlled felling. Controlled felling is the practical half of that promise: harvesting is planned so that regrowth outpaces removal and the forest keeps functioning as a forest. For a chair at this scale, made almost entirely of solid wood, where that wood came from is the single largest environmental question, so it is worth the certificate.
Care is minimal. Wipe the acacia frame with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away, keep it out of prolonged direct sun, which will fade any dark finish over years, and lift it rather than dragging it across hard floors. Dust the woven cord with a soft brush attachment now and then. The model is available in a choice of colours, so a lighter finish can be specified if you want the same frame to recede rather than stand out.
